You can display a Canvas, or a Page, directly on an object using the Vector Graphics Shader.
From the Texture link on a materail channel just select the "Vector Graphics Shader".
Inside the shader is a link where you can drag and drop the Canvas onto.
If you wish to animate your Canvas then you should also enable Animate Preview on the Materials Editor tab.. This wil then refresh the texture in the OpenGL viewport when you scrub the time slider or press play.
